The ASNE-APME conference Sept. 15-17 at the Hyatt Regency in the heart of downtown Chicago is approaching quickly!

Join us for our kick-off session Monday, Sept. 15, with Tom Rosenstiel, executive director of the American Press Institute, and Amy Webb, CEO of Webb Mediagroup.

What's new, and what's next in the journalism industry? Tom and Amy will highlight the latest trends involving news audiences and emerging technology. There will be a highly informative discussion on the implications of these trends for creating journalism that combines the strengths of professional journalists, the community and the power of the network. Confirmed panelists include Rob King, senior vice president of ESPN, and Joyce Terhaar, executive editor of the Sacramento Bee. The conference starts at about 1:30 p.m.

And we'll make sure you leave the conference more informed on the First Amendment. We'll end the conference Wednesday afternoon with a powerful panel discussion on the state and federal government's efforts to control information. Panelists to be confirmed soon.

The entire conference agenda will be available soon at asne.org and at apme.com.

Haven't registered for the conference? Sign up today! It's $250 for members of ASNE and APME. It's $350 if you're a nonmember. APME members can register at apme.com.

And don't forget to reserve your hotel room as soon as possible. The block of rooms we reserved at the Hyatt Regency for $189/night until Aug. 29 is filling up quickly. There will be a dramatic rate increase per night when the block sells out.
