How to lead projects and nurture an investigative culture

 
On June 15, ASNE is hosting a one-day workshop aimed at leadership, prior to the 2016 Investigative Reporters and Editors Conference in New Orleans. This workshop will teach reporters, project editors and top editors what it takes to create an investigative culture and lead high-impact investigative projects and teams. Sign up now! 

 
The American Society of News Editors, in conjunction with the 2016 Investigative Reporters and Editors Conference in New Orleans, is putting on a one-day workshop aimed specifically at leadership for Wednesday, June 15
  
The workshop, which will be held one day prior to the IRE Conference at the New Orleans Marriott, is for reporters, project editors and top editors to learn what it takes to create an investigative culture and lead high-impact investigative projects and teams.

Panels will include:
 
11 a.m. - noon: Leading as a Reporter

Top investigative reporters and player coaches will talk about how to lead a team to great success and how reporters and other content creators can lead their entire organizations into doing better investigative work.

1:45 - 2:45 p.m.: Leading as a Project Editor

Editors from newsrooms small and large, who have brought great projects home, will talk about everything, from vetting ideas to deciding when to write or keep reporting to building project teams to coordinating with various departments to fact-checking processes.
